Virginia Beach Commercial HVAC Company

When your air conditioning system needs repair or maintenance, it’s important to choose the right service company. Here are key factors to consider when hiring an AC service provider:

Reputation and Experience – Look for established companies that have been servicing AC units for many years. Check online reviews and testimonials to ensure they have a solid reputation for quality work and customer service. Experienced companies will be familiar working with all AC system types and brands.

Licensing and Insurance – Make sure the company and technicians are properly licensed and insured. Licensed contractors have undergone training and met qualifications to provide HVAC services legally in your state. Insurance protects you in case of accidents, property damage, or injuries during service.

Pricing and Quotes – Get written quotes from at least 3 companies before choosing one. Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples between quotes. Ask about call-out fees, hourly rates, and any other charges. Avoid companies that charge much lower or higher than competitors.

Professionalism – The company should be professional in all interactions. This includes being on-time for appointments, answering questions thoroughly, providing detailed invoices, and respecting your home. Good communication is key.

Knowledge – Technicians should have expertise in all AC system types and brands. Ensure they can diagnose issues accurately and explain the necessary repairs. Trustworthy companies will not sell you unnecessary services.

Doing your due diligence when selecting an AC company will give you confidence they will provide quality, reliable service and repairs for the best value.

Signs Your AC Unit Needs Servicing

Your air conditioner works hard during the hottest days of summer. Over time, the different components can wear out or become damaged. Knowing the common signs of air conditioning problems can help you identify issues early and avoid costly repairs down the road.

The most obvious sign your AC needs servicing is no cold air coming from the vents. If your system is running but failing to produce cooler air, there is likely an issue with the refrigerant level or compressor. Refrigerant leaks are one of the most common AC problems.

Excessively long run times are another red flag. If your AC unit runs constantly but struggles to cool your home, the system may be low on refrigerant or the coils could be dirty. A clogged air filter can also restrict airflow and force your AC to work harder than necessary.

Strange smells or noises indicate potential issues like an unbalanced motor or failing part. For example, a burning plastic smell could mean the motor is overheating. Loud clanging suggests the compressor is failing. Any new sounds or odors warrant having an AC technician inspect the unit.

Visible water leaks around the indoor unit point to a refrigerant leak or drain line clog. Allowing water to drip near electrical connections poses a major safety hazard. Have any leaks or moisture issues addressed immediately.

Finally, rapidly increasing energy bills even when you haven’t changed usage habits could mean the AC system isn’t operating efficiently. Getting a tune-up and cleaning can help optimize performance and lower costs.

Don’t ignore these warning signs that your air conditioner needs servicing. Schedule an inspection by qualified HVAC technicians to identify any underlying issues. It’s much easier to fix small problems before they escalate into complete system failures.

Benefits of Regular AC Maintenance

Regular maintenance by a professional air conditioning service company provides several important benefits for your cooling system. Routine maintenance helps improve efficiency, extend the lifespan, and prevent breakdowns of your AC unit.

Improved Efficiency

Over time, dirt, dust, and debris can build up in the condenser coils, filters, and other components. This reduces airflow and the efficiency of your AC system. Professional cleaning and maintenance removes built-up contaminants so your unit can run cooler with less energy usage. Proper refrigerant levels and airflow means your AC won’t have to work as hard to provide cooling.

Extended Lifespan

Regular maintenance identifies minor issues before they become major repairs. Replacing filters, cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting components helps prevent wear and tear. Performing routine maintenance allows you to maximize the lifespan of your AC system and avoid costly premature repairs or replacement.

Prevent Breakdowns

One of the biggest benefits of professional AC maintenance is avoiding system failures and breakdowns during hot summer months. Technicians can spot potential problems and make repairs to prevent your system from failing on the hottest day of the year. This prevents costly emergency repairs and keeps your home or office comfortable all summer long.

Pipes burst in my house's foundation. Called Jacob and he talked me through what to do immediately for damage control. He then came out and determined we had Quest / PB piping and recommended a full re-pipe. Neighbors confirmed their homes also had Quest pipe and had similar issues over the years.

Fortunately, we had copper in the walls, so Jacob was able to get creative and find a way to reroute the plumbing through the attic with new Pex and tie it into the existing copper, while minimizing damage to drywall, thus avoiding expensive and messy excavation of the foundation.

Overall, I am happy with the result - no more leaking, our water heater plumbing is now up to code, pipes are insulated where needed, hose bib & washer box updated.

Just a little constructive feedback - I understand Taylor had other emergency jobs that he had to tackle, but the work did take longer than expected - Jacob could've used some extra help at times. My roommate and I had to assist. We didn't mind helping out with a few simple tasks (helped Jacob fish a couple pipes from garage through side attic + main attic which would've been nearly impossible to do solo) because obviously we had a vested interest in getting water back on in my home. The labor cost & number of hours also came in a bit higher than expected, but another company initially quoted even higher, so I can't be too upset -- Plumbers have no shortage of work! Tip to other customers - make sure you track the hours worked and get estimated work itemized ahead of time where possible.

But, again, overall - quality work. Thank you.
Response from the owner:Trevor, I appreciate your positive review and your constructive comments. Jacob is an excellent representation of our company's values and work ethic, and that is exactly why he is a team member. You are right, I was called away by several emergencies with other customers losing heat in the bitter cold. Regarding the price, re-piping a house is one of the biggest jobs in plumbing, and until you get into the walls and ceilings you never quite know what you are dealing with, so the costs can vary. I will note that the final cost was 15% under the worst-case scenario price I originally provided and that you signed and accepted. You also mentioned getting higher quotes from other companies, so I am happy that we did a good job with a lower price. I am glad that you have no more leaking and that your water heater is now up to code, the pipes are insulated, and the hose bibb and washer box have been updated. I hope we can come back and help you in the future and get that 5-star review that so many others have given! Happy Holidays!
Response from the owner:Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review!
