Pipes burst in my house's foundation. Called Jacob and he talked me through what to do immediately for damage control. He then came out and determined we had Quest / PB piping and recommended a full re-pipe. Neighbors confirmed their homes also had Quest pipe and had similar issues over the years.
Fortunately, we had copper in the walls, so Jacob was able to get creative and find a way to reroute the plumbing through the attic with new Pex and tie it into the existing copper, while minimizing damage to drywall, thus avoiding expensive and messy excavation of the foundation.
Overall, I am happy with the result - no more leaking, our water heater plumbing is now up to code, pipes are insulated where needed, hose bib & washer box updated.
Just a little constructive feedback - I understand Taylor had other emergency jobs that he had to tackle, but the work did take longer than expected - Jacob could've used some extra help at times. My roommate and I had to assist. We didn't mind helping out with a few simple tasks (helped Jacob fish a couple pipes from garage through side attic + main attic which would've been nearly impossible to do solo) because obviously we had a vested interest in getting water back on in my home. The labor cost & number of hours also came in a bit higher than expected, but another company initially quoted even higher, so I can't be too upset -- Plumbers have no shortage of work! Tip to other customers - make sure you track the hours worked and get estimated work itemized ahead of time where possible.
But, again, overall - quality work. Thank you.
Response from the owner:Trevor, I appreciate your positive review and your constructive comments. Jacob is an excellent representation of our company's values and work ethic, and that is exactly why he is a team member. You are right, I was called away by several emergencies with other customers losing heat in the bitter cold. Regarding the price, re-piping a house is one of the biggest jobs in plumbing, and until you get into the walls and ceilings you never quite know what you are dealing with, so the costs can vary. I will note that the final cost was 15% under the worst-case scenario price I originally provided and that you signed and accepted. You also mentioned getting higher quotes from other companies, so I am happy that we did a good job with a lower price. I am glad that you have no more leaking and that your water heater is now up to code, the pipes are insulated, and the hose bibb and washer box have been updated. I hope we can come back and help you in the future and get that 5-star review that so many others have given! Happy Holidays!
